FHP: Trailer, car hit while passing; driver trapped.

JASPER — A Georgia man was killed Wednesday evening when his car collided with a mobile home being hauled on State Road 6 in Hamilton County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi truck pulling a single-wide mobile home was traveling east on SR 6 nearing the Interstate 75 interchange around 5:50 p.m. when it was approached by a westbound Honda Pilot.

As the vehicles passed each other, the left side of the mobile home collided with the driver’s side of the Honda, FHP states.

The driver of the car, an 18-year-old Lake Park, Georgia, man, was trapped in the vehicle. He died at the scene.

According to FHP, the driver of the truck tractor, a 59-year-old Jennings man, was not injured.
